Hi, In my company explorer is used as default browser and is configured to access to all the intranet portals. I use Firefox and each time that I want to access to portal a popup appears asking me for the authentication. It is not the classical authentication page (see the screenshot) and I can not save login and password with the password manager. This is quite annoying because I have to enter the login and the password many time a day and sometime if I make a mistake I can not retry to reenter the values as on the next access to the portal the authentication is not required anymore and the website redirect me directly to the "invalid authentication" page (I have to restart firefox to have again the authentication popup). As Explorer doesn't required at all this authentication I suppose there is a manner to configure also firefox to do the same saving my credential in some manner so that it authenticate automatically. Someone know how can I do it? Thanks and best regards.

Hi   !
See the section   'Connection Settings Dialog'   in the article
'Advanced panel - Accessibility, browsing, network, updates, and other advanced settings in Firefox':
        http://mzl.la/1RwtUcw
and check:   'Do not prompt for authentification if password is saved'.
'Hope this will work for you;   otherwise we'll have to keep looking.

Hi Happy112 thanks for your answer but unfortunately this doesn't solve my problem. Actually there is no way to save the login and password when this popup appears so I think that it makes useless the option 'do not prompt for authentication if password is saved'

I'm not sure but I guess that this kind of popup could be related not to the username and password needed to authenticate to the website but instead to some authentication relative to the certificates..

If someone else has any other ideas please advice!

A website thinks you want access and is asking for your information.

Stab in the dark:
https://www.itsupportguides.com/tech-tips-tricks/firefox-how-to-enable-automatic-ntlm-authentication/

Hi, thanks a lot, I followed the guide and it works with almost all the company services.. ..unfortunately I still have problem to access to the Jira portal (that is always under my company domain). Do you know if there is some other parameter that I can use to make also it to work? In any case thanks for the very useful answer, I also learned something new about the NTLM authentication. Best regards!

Hi   again   !
Another   (complete)   stab in the dark,   as I am not familiar with the Jira portal; I did some searching, and this is the best I can come up with:

If you do not see a log file it probably means that the  JIRA   didn't even try starting.   Do you see the service as started under the windows services list?

Normally you will find the following log under the   %jira-home/log directory:   atlassian-jira

You can also usually find a   stderr  and   stdout  in your   C:\Program Files\Atlassian\JIRA\logs directory that may give you some hints.
