How do I add a bookmark to the start of the bookmarks toolbar rather than the bottom?

When a bookmark is added to the Bookmarks Toolbar, Mozilla puts it at the bottom of the Toolbar list. The user wants a new bookmark added to the top almost always, NEVER to the bottom. Not only is the default wrong, but users are not given a preference setting for this that I can find on the Firefox site. Did I overlook it, or is this something we can hope to see in a future update?

Firefox has always added new bookmarks to the end of the applicable list, whether it's the Bookmarks Menu, Bookmarks Toolbar, a folder on one of those, or the "Other Bookmarks" (previously known as "Unsorted Bookmarks") category.

Over the years, developers have created numerous extensions to enhance how bookmarking works, so my suggestion would be to check whether any of them add this feature for immediate use.

And you also can submit suggestions for new features here:

If you are more ambitious, you can create a new Request for Enhancement in the bug tracking system:

You may have noticed that Firefox has some pre-established "bookmarks" that have a blue folder with a magnifying glass on them. These are "places query" folders which dynamically list bookmarks and history. You can use a places query to show the most recent additions to the Bookmarks Toolbar.

I posted an example which shows a drop-down list of the last 30 bookmarks saved to the Bookmarks Toolbar:

Might be handy??

Glad to know that, but getting Mozilla to redesign Bookmarks to a more user friendly function would be a great help. Comparing Firefox bookmarking with Safari bookmarking reveals a chasm called ease of use.

As a Windows user, I don't know what I'm missing.

(I find the UI of the iOS version of Safari impenetrable, so it's nice to hear that the MacOS version is better.)
