Since several weeks now the garmin connect website (https://connect.garmin.com/modern/) is not showing any info anymore.

While it has worked correctly for several months (on Firefox), now only a blue screen is visible with the 4 icons on the lefthandside (icons looking like: 3 horizontal bars, an in-tray, side way pointing arrows, and a person icon), and only 2 lines appear on top of the screen showing links which don't respond (Help Status Facebook Instagram Twitter Pinterest Statement of Privacy Terms of Use Security Connect is powered by Garmin • Copyright © 1996-2016 Garmin Ltd. or its subsidiaries • Version: 3.13.3.0).

My PC runs on WIN10, Norton 360, and software is fully up to date.

I tried searching the web for solutions, but I can't find any. What I did find was that many many users have reported this issue several times on garmin forums (posts seen ranging from 2013 till 2016). I did not find any solution though. Cache has been cleared several times.

Is there a solution for this issue? Can you help me please with this? I can't use the product fully if that site is not working properly. I want to be able to use the website, selecting training schedule etc, next to the garmin mobile app on my iphone.

Thanks

I tried one more thing: I switched power OFF to my router, cable-modem, and the 2 switches I have in between modem and router. After 20 secs, turned it back ON.
Checked both iphones via wifi, and my main PC (wired conn): the site appears to be working again.

Sometimes "stuff happens" in the memory of always-on devices that can't be explained or fixed, just flushed. Possibly the router was stubbornly using an obsolete IP address for the site, or ??

Thx for the feedback Alex. Just tried your suggestion, no use though...

Now the page loads, not blue but white screen, and saying this: "Time to update. Your browser is no longer supported on Garmin Connect. We recommend updating to the newest version of one of these compatible browsers.. " And a bunch of links appear below that: chrome, Firefox, IE, Garmin connect, home, features, sign in, etc... which don't work either.

Any other idea?

Some of the garmin forums posts I found talked about 'classic' view instead 'modern', and about 'addblocker' perhaps being the issue. I tried finding & acting upon both of those potentials (as far as I think I know how to... but totally unsure about that) but no use either. Can't find that 'classic' view, and don't know if I have any addblockers active.

This looks like a site issue, please reach out to Garmin via http://support.garmin.com/ You might want to provide link to the forum postings you've mentioned earlier.

Kindly let us know if this solves your inquiry.

Thx, tried that before I came here. Just tried that once again using your link. But has been futile so far, and turned out hopeless now again...

That link for example to their support page... same result: after a long waiting period (below stating: connecting to static.garmincdn.com), a white page appears with a bunch of hyperlinks, seemingly listing links on their website, but just in a plain list fashion, but none of them work (ie also not the ones called: contact us, support center, ...).

I understand the logic of this probably having some sort of origin on their website, but it seems so unlikely that garmin would leave such issue existing over the course of several years... Also, I have been using a working version on this pc of that site, just few months ago (ie while some others had apparently similar issues). Could it be that certain combinations of their site with certain versions of browser don't match up?

One of the posts on garmin forum got this reply from a moderator: "This is indicative of something blocking the download, ghostery or similar programs seem to be the normal culprit. " (https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?150621-GarminConnect-is-blue-screen-only)

How can I check on my pc if something would be blocking the site's download? A log somewhere?

Thx for the feedback! I will work through that asap.

Some more info: also problems occurs when I try other browsers on same PC (Chrome and Internet Explorer show me the white page with list format non-responsive hyperlinks. MS Edge gives me a totally white page, nothing on it.).

Via iphone, safari, i get the white screen with list format hyperlinks which don't work.

Some users have problem accessing servers whose names include cdn which is an acronym for Content Distribution Network. If this crosses browsers, perhaps security software or parental control software on your computer is blocking it for some reason?

Using wi-fi, in other words, sharing the same router/ISP as your computer? Or using mobile networks, which would not implicate your router.

Thx for the feedback. iPhone via wifi indeed, via same router as my PC. Was doubting if the router could have something to do with this.

How could I see if router or norton 360 would be blocking some elements of this site?

I'm not familiar with Norton 360. Does it have any kind of log of what it allowed and what it blocked?

Routers vary a lot. Some have a login where you can configure them. Others are "dumb" and the most you can do is "power cycle" them when they get glitchy (unplug them, wait 10 seconds, then plug them in again).

You can check the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) for error messages about blocked and unsafe content. You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

You can use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

I tried on another computer in my house, same issue... Sometimes the blue screen with little on it appears, but now mostly just a white screen appears with some hyperlinks listed on it, which seem to be stuff from the actual website. The site is not working, no graphs appear, it's very very slow, hardly any reaction comes at all.

Tried he monitor: ended with this message: "style sheet could not be loaded. https://static.garmincdn.com/com.garmin.connect/ui/css/connect-v2.2-min.css?v=20161205"

Thx for all the help, much appreciated. I'm not technical enough I think though. It seems very complicated.

When you click that link to the style sheet to load it in a tab, what do you get back? For example, blank page, server not found, page not found, etc.

then i get: The connection has timed out. The server at static.garmincdn.com is taking too long to respond...

Does your router (or DSL modem, etc.) have any login to let you administer it? Otherwise, it's hard to know what to check next.

Yes it has, tried finding something meaningful in it, but not sure where to look. It's an asus rt router.

Asus RT-AC87U, if that helps

There's a manual here: https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/RTAC87U/HelpDesk_Manual/

The only thing that jumps out at me is on page 77:

Advanced Settings > Firewall > URL Filter

Thx for the advice. I checked out the router URL filter settings, no filters are set.
