How can I get the folderpane view back to the default arrangement?

By 'default arrangement' I mean the arrangement described in Mozilla Support Folder pane view, in which the user e-mail address is followed by a few 'secure' folders such as 'inbox', 'drafts', 'sent' etc, and then by a heading called 'Local folders', followed by all the user-defined folders. For some reason, in my folderpane view, the order has become reversed, with the e-mail address and all the 'secure' folders at the bottom, and Local Folders at the top. Since my 'Local Folders are several hundred in number and hold several gigabytes of valuable date, I am anxious not to do anything which will cause the Local Folders to be corrupted or lost. The order matters because my most frequent action is to shift an individual file out of the inbox or sent folder and put it in the appropriate Local Folder. This becomes much slower if the secure folder is not near the top.

Make sure the e-mail address with all the 'secure' folders is your default account. Thunderbird puts the default account at the top of the folder pane.

Then you hopefully have a backup of your Thunderbird profile. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-tb#w_backing-up-a-profile
