With the latest Mac update (57.0.4) the bookmork saves without allowing the user to choose where. Please fix this.

When I select "bookmark this page," instead of providing a choice as to which folder to use—as it always has—the browser drops it into the Bookmarks Menu and closes the bookmark window. This problem showed up with the latest update.

The bookmark this page doorhanger should stay open for about three seconds to allow you to make changes to the proposed name and folder and to add possible tags. If you click anywhere in that drop down then it shouldn't close until you click Done. If it closes sooner then you may have an extension interfering.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Uh-huh...and if I report that this doesn't happen the proper response is to fix it, not tell me what was supposed to happen.

This bug came with the new version. The solution isn't to tell me to start from scratch, or to reinstall my add ons. It's to fix your mistake.
