I got a notification that Firefox had used my camera for about "2:30" which I don't remember being on any site that should be using a Camera, I think I was only on AccuWeather's site. So why did I get this notification? And can I find out who used my camera and why? I have since disabled camera permissions.

Hi

I have contacted one of our developers who has explained that this is probably due to an advert on the page that you are viewing in Firefox for Android querying the media devices (such as the camera) that are installed on the device.

You should be presented with a choice of wherther you would like to allow this, and can change this in the Android settings at a later date if you wish.

I did not get any choice whatsoever. I was simply told by my phone that firefox was using my camera in the background and I never gave any permission for this. This happened again just a couple minutes ago and I'm wondering if maybe it's a glitch or a flaw in the app that needs to be fixed? I don't want anyone using my camera without my permission.

Check the Android app settings for Firefox. If you have granted Firefox camera/microphone access then there will not be a prompt. If you have microphone/camera set to off please report back.
