Followed options as per this article (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-built-pdf-viewer-and-use-another-viewer) but PDF does not open with Adobe Reader and keeps on prompting as per screenshot below.

This works fine with version 68.2.0 but not with 6.4.1.

Can you take a screenshot of what your applications section looks like in your about:preferences?

Hi Amer, also, is it possible to share the link that triggered that dialog?

Usually that particular dialog in your screenshot shows for novel protocols. By protocols, I mean the first part of the URL, like http:// or https://. In your screenshot, Firefox refers to file but I don't think that is actual protocol because Firefox knows how to handle file:/// URLs.
