I am trying to setup a GPO to configure Firefox but I cant find any setting in the admx template to configure Firefox to prompt a user before downloading and opening required file types, its labeled in about:config as plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types.

I dont see anywhere in the admx to do this

I don't believe it's possible to lock this with a GPO. However, all about:config preferences can be set or locked by using an AutoConfig.

See Customizing Firefox Using AutoConfig for more information.

Hope this helps.

This preference really shouldn't do anything anymore (we don't have plugins)

Is there a specific behavior you are looking for or is this related to the DoD STIG?

Yes this is related to the DoD STIG's. If this preference is no longer valid we need to get that word over to the STIG team, I can facilitate that if you can show me somewhere in Mozilla documentation that shows that preference is dead. Or I can send you my contact info via a private message, let me know.

I'm actually working with DISA on the STIG update for Firefox :).

I'll probably add those prefs temporarily just to pass the current STIG.

Awesome, best news I've heard all week. If would be great if the updated STIG is tailored around the GPO admin templates. I'm sure you have seen the current STIG and its not tailed that way at all. Theirs multiple STIG settings you can not set via GPO.
