Hello There,

to describe my problem in more detail, I first have to explain the following:

There were two ways to bookmark: 1. CTRL + D (manually save each bookmark in the folder) 2. Via "Show all bookmark folders" I was able to select a folder and with CTRL + D all bookmarks were automatically saved in the selected folder

The second option no longer appears to be available. I have to assign all bookmarks individually to a folder. Does anyone have information?

The second option changed to CTRL + B (Don't know when).

Then you drag-and-drop each individual bookmark into your desired folder.

That doesn't make sense. The function was that all bookmarks are automatically saved in the folder that I previously selected via "Open all bookmark folders". If I choose CTRL + B, my bookmarks open "as normal" (as always). With CTRL + B I didn't set a bookmark, I just open the bar on the left.

I uploaded a photo for clarification.

In the first picture, I manually save each bookmark in a folder. And on the second picture I choose a folder and all other bookmarks were automatically saved in this folder by Firefox. Apparently this feature was deleted? Can somebody tell me why?

You can open a folder in the bookmarks in two ways. If you click the arrow for "Show All Bookmarks Folders", there was an additional option in Firefox on how to save all subsequent bookmarks.

With the addon that you suggested to me, I have to define the folder in the addon settings - nice, but too cumbersome and inflexible. And basically not what I'm missing now. I want to know which Mozilla developer removed this feature for what reason. It’s so annoying. Here again clarifies the OLD logic of the bookmarks:

  • CTRL + D + "More bookmarks"'

You have to select the folder again with each bookmark

  • CTRL + D + click "Open all bookmark folders" (the small arrow next to "More bookmarks")'

You click on a folder and all of the following bookmarks are automatically saved in the folder for a certain time. But I can choose a different folder at any time. If I change the folder, all of the following bookmarks will be saved in the folder I selected. Very flexible, logical and fast. The developers have thought even further: This rule was automatically set to the default if: 1. Bookmarks with CTRL + D + "More bookmarks" were set 2. If the browser was restarted, or 3. if I haven't marked a bookmark after an hour

Mozilla recently removed this rule / logic from Firefox for inexplicable reasons
