On the previous Firefox browser I had on my Android phone, I set it to close all my tabs when I closed the browser. I've just updated to the new Firefox on Android and I can't find the option to do this. I have to manually close all the tabs every time I close the browser. Surely they haven't given us less options and features in the new version?!

Pressing quit in the app closes the tabs but it doesn't also close the app down on my phone.

I think he meant when closing the browser via android button (x) or close all open apps. If I use the menu quit it close my tabs. If I close via android Firefox doesn't close the tabs, whereas previous version do close all open tabs without quitting Firefox.

Doesn't appear to work after exiting Firefox?

This release should still be in beta - it's the first time I'm considering moving over to Chrome which I've avoided for a long time...

Did you really click the Quit button?

Thanks man, this works perfectly :) It doesn't work if you just close the app, but if you click on the three dots to get the main menu, then press 'Quit' then it will close Firefox and any tabs you have open within it.

Thanks for your help...

Actually I just realised that pressing quit doesn't actually shut the Firefox app down! So I have to press quit to close the tabs and the app. Then I also have to close the app on my phone to completely shut it down. Why can't just one action completely close all tabs and the app?

Yes, I shouldn't have to select "quit" from the menu. Swiping the app closed or closing all in Android should also really close the app.

same. same. a thousand times same. the annoyance of this upgrade not quitting the tabs when i use the normal android process to close the app is SO FRUSTRATING.

This isn't a solution I'd be happy with. I want to immediately close all tabs as soon as I close Firefox in Android, like I could with the old version of Firefox.

The problem is they took away the toggle for reopening tabs at startup.

That is what the setting was... not the closing of tabs when exiting, but the reopening of those tabs on startup.

The way they structured it now is more like a script that calls the function to close all tabs (available in the tabs menu), and then minimizes the browser to a background app.

BRING BACK THE SETTING/FUNCTION TO ALLOW/DISABLE REOPENING OF TABS AT STARTUP.

I think the point is you did not have to click the quit button previously, and being required to do so is not intuitive to a mobile device user who is accustomed to closing apps by swiping them closed/via android.

I'm going to second this: BRING BACK THE SETTING/FUNCTION TO ALLOW/DISABLE REOPENING OF TABS AT STARTUP.

Why did you downgrade options?

There isn't an alternative to choose 'Quit'. Also there isn't an alternative in settings to stop reopening previous sessions, please return it into settings Thanks.
