downloading my own videos off of my own youtube channel
Based on my friend's statement to me that HE WAS ABLE TO EASILY DOWNLOAD ANYBODY'S YOUTUBE VIDEO VIA HIS FIREFOX BROWSER I put Firefox on my desktop PC specifically so that I could download my own youtube videos via my youtube channel's DOWNLOAD BUTTON that had suddenly (after working fine for several months) stopped working for me on Chrome. *This download button had been for weeks working perfectly fine in my brand new FIREFOX browser but has just now suddenly stopped working: Is this a problem with FIREFOX or is youtube preventing me (by blocking my IP address or something) from downloading to my PC MY OWN VIDEOS?

Did you check the reviews of that extension on the Add-ons page to see if there are issues reported ?
YouTube (Google) regularly changes its code, so if there are problems then this means that the extension developer needs to address this with an update and you can possibly contact its developer for support.
I don't understand what you want me to do? My download button out on my youtube channel had been working FINE with my brand new Firefox browser, and I'd believed I was home free-otherwise that button would have never worked with Firefox in the first place. (Maybe it's just a temporary bug and not intentional on the part of youtube? IDK?)
You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:
You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).
"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"
"Clear the Cache":
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
