I am tryng to use Turbotax but it doesn't recognize my copy of Firefox which I just downloaded.
I am using Turbotax which says to use Firefox and even though I just downloaded the latest version, it still doesn't work with Turbotax. They say they don't recognize my browser.

I wonder whether they have a minimum version number? With Windows XP, unfortunately you do not have the option to install later versions of Firefox.
You can set Firefox to lie about your version number to see whether that makes any difference. This involves changing or modifying the user agent string (general.useragent.override). I'm not sure it's really safe to fill official forms this way. If you try it, check their math carefully!
I can't test these steps on modern versions of Firefox, but you could give this a try:
(0) Select and copy this preference name:
general.useragent.override
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, paste general.useragent.override and pause while the list is filtered
If there is a match already:
Select and copy the following, then double-click the current string, delete it, and paste to replace it with this one:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0
If the list of matches is empty:
(3) right-click in a blank area of the page > New > String
This should bring up a box to enter the preference name. Paste general.useragent.override and click OK (I think it was OK).
(4) For the value, temporarily enter asdf or whatever to finish this process.
(5) Select and copy the following, then double-click the temporary string, delete it, and paste to replace it with this one:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0
The next time you return to the site, is it fooled?
Note that this could cause some sites to malfunction if they apply different code to Firefox 52 and Firefox 78.
