Have you considered using 'Thunderbird' as access to emails instead of directly logging on to the webmail account, if set up as Imap account then you can get access to all server folders. It is then easier to download full copies and copy them into 'Local Folders' mail account before deleting the original off the server. They would then be saved on your computer. This would mean you would have easy access to reading those emails you moved off the server. https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/ https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/imap-synchronization https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatic-account-configuration

If gmail account then you can export them as .eml files to computer, but you would still need an email client like Thunderbird in order to read them. So you may as well create a gmail imap account in Thunderbird and use it instead of webmail. https://support.google.com/mail/answer/9261412?hl=en-GB

Using an email client is also advised by hotmail / outlook.com but being Microsoft, they would advise using Outlook email client, but you can use Thunderbird or any other.
