Since the 91.5.1 Update (Mac), the background for new emails defaults to black text on a white background. As you will see from the attached screengrabs, the Composition background color should be yellow (255, 255, 204). I have tried every setting without any success. I read on a reddit post that this has happened to other people since this update. Is there anything I can do?

It appears that TB is acting as though the tickbox for 'use reader colors' was checked. You might want to try ticking that box and then unticking to see if it makes any difference. That's the only thought I have on the subject, but that's just my guess.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried many times to check, uncheck, restart TB and the computer, etc without success. It only happened with this update of TB.

The confusion, I think, is in TB's desire to be flexible. The option is that, when checked, it shows the default system colors. When unchecked, it shows your preferred colors. The puzzlement is that this option is in the Composition window, spelled as 'Use Reader's Default Colors', and this choice is ALSO in the General section as "Use System Colors' - one affects the compose window and the other reflects viewing other messages.
