Why did my Thunderbird update to version 102? I knew from experience that version 102 was a big bummer. After rescuing Thunderbird from a backup, I always refused to upgrade, and today it updated itself to a new version. How is that possible if I didn't give my consent? How to bypass this in the future. Of course, once again it has been confirmed that version 102 is a big bummer -- I lost account passwords, filters stopped working, folders marked as favorites disappeared, some folders have some strange names. Why are you forcing people like this?

Thunderbird WILL automatically update UNLESS you disable this behaviour. In Thunderbird's Settings, you can set this to check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them. You can also use the Windows Registry to disable updates completely. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1314978 for details.

I had it checked for 2 months, but Thunderbird updated itself anyway, and of course everything broke in the program. The program is so buggy that even this function doesn't work as it should. I used a registry entry, maybe it will work. But there are so many bugs that I would prefer to prohibit connection to the update server in "hosts" file, then maybe it will work somehow.
