When I set custom colors to distinguish visited and unvisited links, it also overrides other colors. For example, when I use WORDLE, its color coding is not used and all I get is black and white letters so no feedback. The wording on the color override implies that it only applies to links. If it does not apply only to links, it is not a real option.

Assuming you are using light for web pages, try changing these preferences in about:config to the colours you want. There is an alternative for each preference if you are using dark for pages.
