How can we turn this annoyance off?? I mean turn it off WITHOUT BEING TRACKED! I do realise I can sign into my Google account, and change the prompt from appearing, however I need to be signed into my Google account, have this setting checked, and also cross sites tracking needs to be on.. what a frigging joke! Could Google try and invade our privacy any more? This is an incredibly tactful way for Google to annoy its users, then offer a solution, which INCREASES their ability to track people. Wow! I hope I am not the only person seeing what Google is doing here.

It seems like I have tried for half of my life to not have Pop ups from annoying my user experience, and from what I understand the IOT have agreed that this is not good practice. But C'mon Google WTF! Are you doing! If it's not auto playing videos, cookie warning pop ups, paywalls, Google sign in prompts. This is ruining the internet, and the only way to fix this, is to sign your life away. The IOT already has way more information then it needs to render a website, and have the most basic anonymised user date to function. THIS is all the IOT needs to operate, so why does the internet "need" so much more to work. What a joke. And most people unfortunately are following into this blind, and without questioning the powers that be.

I just wanted to add, it seems that some websites are ignoring the Gogle account setting for the sign in prompts, and are still displaying the Pop up. This may be on purpose to get more people to sign in(the cynic in me) or it could be some form of limitations on the website etc. I dont see how this is probably with web standards though.

Anyway thanks in advance for any help, and comments.

Hi

I believe that this page element from Google can be blocked using the uBlock add-on available from the Firefox for Android menu (look under "Add-ons").

I just tried this. Does not work on Android. I believe the Pop ups run on some type of dynamic ip so adblock doesn't work.

There is a custom filter that may work, although adblock Android doesn't allow custom filters. (I've tried) once the custom filter is entered, there is no way for it to accept the new filter. Try it.

Also, this doesn't seem to be an issue in Chrome, at least when signed in to Google, and said options selected.

SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM IN FIREFOX

It is probably partly integrated into Chrome and uses your Google account automatically.

Firefox for Android is a different browser to Chrome and is not made by Google.
