Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

You can also try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the Safe mode start window.

The DEFAULT theme was already selected (Tools > Add-ons > Themes)

Trying to locate the "Safe mode start window," I was unable to see or notice the "Safe mode start window."

If I were able to see it, I would try the above "reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" suggestion.

Does anyone know how I could find the "Safe mode start window"? I assume it displays after the Advanced Options menu appears.

If you do not see the Safe mode start window then that means that Firefox wasn't closed completely and that the Firefox process was still active.
