Saved tabs fail to load when selected (Firefox 4) They open blank and requirs refreshing each tab by hand. How do I set tabs to load when tab is selected?

Tabs open blank, which requires refreshing each tab by hand. A slow process. In Firefox 3.6 mousing over tab showed address (still does in Firefox 4) but selecting tab automatically loaded page. So you could 'preview' the saved tabs without Firefox having to load them all on start-up. That made sense. In Firefox 4 I preview the tab, select it, then have to take seperate action to refresh in order to load the page. NOT a helpful feature!!! How do I set tabs to automatically load when tab is selected as they did in 3.6?

TEMPORARY solution here. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/790602#answer-144784

However, does not solve issue, just 're-solves' it. Still needs an answer of how to fix somewhere in the settings....

After much trial and error I solved part of my problem. The issue was with an extension. For me, I had a concurrent failure of the back-button to refresh certain history in some tabs (when the original address in the tab redirected to another site, then the back-button would show the history with right-click, but refused to refresh the page to that address. Not an issue with all sites though. That issue resolved in the process of playing around with disabling and re-enabling extensions.

My original issue was resolved by disabling the Bar-tab Add-on, which is meant (among other things) to conserve memory by preventing restored tabs from loading fully on start-up, rather they load when opened. Apparently Bar-tab isn't compatible yet with FF4, but has not been marked to auto-disable during upgrade.

Solution that worked to regain the partial-load of my restored tabs, so they would auto-refresh on opening:

See the Bar-tab add-on Mozilla page and http://www.techtip.org/speedup-your-browsing-with-firefox-4-bartab/ which references a partial integration of Bar-tab into FF4 http://blog.zpao.com/post/1140456188/cascaded-session-restore-a-hidden-bonus
