I used to have task or shortcuts show up when I would right click on the FF Icon on the task bar. After installing 4.0 they are all gone. How do I get these back? or restore them to what they were?

Win 7 task bar has a Fire Fox Icon. Before installing FF 4.0 I could right click on the Icon and it would show short cuts to various sights, which when clicked on would open that sight in FF. They are all gone now. What happened? Is there a way to get these back?

A few hidden preferences to check to make sure that the jump lists are enabled:

  1. Type about:config into the location bar and press enter
  2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
  3. In the filter box type browser.taskbar.lists this should bring up a few preferences
  4. To enable all parts of the jump list, make sure the following preferences are set to true, if they are not double-click to them to change their value
    1. browser.taskbar.lists.enabled
    2. browser.taskbar.lists.frequent.enabled
    3. browser.taskbar.lists.recent.enabled
    4. browser.taskbar.lists.tasks.enabled

Hi Tony I did as you said but still dont have shortcuts pinned to the FF Icon on the task bar. What else Can I try? Do I have to restart FF? do I have to reboot system?

With those preferences there is no need to restart Firefox for the change to take place. You can try rebooting to see if that helps.

Tony I found that if you open the website you want a short cut for then right click on a URL that is open you can drag and drop it to the Icon thereby creating a shortcut to that URL
