I did this ... It didn't work. That's why I posted the question ...

OK, try making a blank page your homepage first of all. So in the URL address bar, type about:blank and hit Enter.

Then go to Tools | Options | General and make sure that "Show My Homepage" is displayed in the dropdown menu.

Then click the button called "Use Current Page". Then go to File | Exit to close Firefox completely. Then open it again.

I've uploaded an image for you to show you what it should look like.

If that works, go to the site you want as your homepage and then click the "Use Current Page" button again.

It's kinda working now but I think something else is going on because sometimes when I open Firefox, it will bring up my homepage and other times it will bring up the last page browsed. Maybe it's temperamental ...

Try clearing the cache. That's via Tools | Clear Recent History. In the dialog box, click the Details arrow and checkmark "Cache" (leave the others blank) and then choose "Today" from the dropdown menu. Finally, click "Clear Now"

You can also choose other options such as Last Hour, Everything etc.

There's also a possibility you installed something and clicked 'Next' without realizing you were making whatever site your homepage.

Ok I just did that ... hopefully that fixes it! Thank you for all your help :-)

You're welcome.

  • Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
  • Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to the default position between the location bar and the search bat to remove them or click the Restore Default Set button.
