I am switching from XP to windows 7 at the same time you have changed firefox and my bookmarks are in a .json file. How do I import them?

I have a new computer. The old firefox made backups with .json files but I don't see how to import them. I've got one for bookmarks from 5-11.

To import a JSON backup into Firefox 4 on Windows 7.

First, open the bookmarks organizer ("Library") using

orange Firefox button > Bookmarks or
Bookmarks menu > Show All Bookmarks or
Ctrl+Shift+b

On the menu bar (has a grayed out back and forward button on the left side), the third menu should be Import & Backup. Some people don't see the words, just the icon, which looks like a star with some green arrows forming a circle.

From that menu Restore > Choose File, and navigate to your JSON file.

Any luck?
