how can I combine my IE favourites list with my firefox bookmarks?
I have recently switched to Firefox and have imported my favourites from IE. My favourites list is extensive, built up over many years, with folders and sub-folders etc. But now whenever I want to add a new favourite or 'bookmark' in FF, I can't add it to one of my folders imported from IE.
I have tried to find the folder location of the FF Bookmarks but this seems to be a single .html file, not a folder that I can simply copy the existing IE favourites folders and files to.
Is there a way to combine the two so that I have one single favourites/bookmarks list?

Firefox stores bookmarks (and browsing history) in one database file named places.sqlite, in your Profile folder. Any bookmarks.html file you may have is either the default bookmarks that come with Firefox, or an old version of your Firefox bookmarks from Firefox 2 and earlier versions of Firefox. Firefox hasn't used bookmarks.html for much of anything for over 3 years now.
If you do an Export from IE and an Import into Firefox, you won't have that separate from Internet Explorer folder in your listing of Firefox bookmarks.
In IE:
File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file
then in Firefox:
Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Import HTML... = From HTML file
But, first you should right-click that from Internet Explorer folder and Delete that entire folder, so you won't have a ton of duplicate bookmarks in Firefox.
Wow, thank you very much, worked a treat! :-)
