Simply, where do I get a copy of FF 4. I don't want FF 5 now, even if you fix the bugs.. My system runs slow, browsing is just awful, Google Toolbar doesn't run and to be honest it looks exactly same as old one, but works a lot worse!! Ever heard the expression if it works, don't fix?

Also, now that I've been FORCED to sign up just to send you feedback about your lousy browser, it means you now have my email address and details in a nice database to sell on to people.

REMOVE ALL MY REGISTRATION INFO. I WISH TO UNREGISTER. IF YOU DON"T REMOVE MY DATA FROM YOUR DATABASE, I WILL DO IT MYSELF!

Due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended. Firefox 3.6.18 would be the safer choice.

Here's the process to roll back:

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older

Close Firefox 5.

You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.

Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

As for your registration here on the support site, I don't know how you can delete it. But in the future, just use Google to find answers like this.

Thank you Sir, that was a perfect reply to my query. You should be commended. Apart from that bit about using Google!!! This is the MOZILLA HELP FORUM!!! Patronising bastard!

Mozilla is a non profit and doesn't sell your data.

I believe at this moment your naive belief may well be true, but that WILL change... i would wager money on it :-)

Then you would lose your money blahblahblah. Mozilla has been around for a long time and not about to ruin their reputation by doing something like that.

Sorry, it doesn't now, nor has it ever worked that way. I reckon my money is very safe. Look at the history of IT organisations and you'll see they won't be alone! Mozilla will at some stage release private information to somebody they shouldn't. I would not only stake my money on it, I would stake my life on it. However, I do find it nice and almost comforting that there are still people who are naive enough to think otherwise.

How long do you think Mozilla has existed for so far?

More like it you that is being naive to think Mozilla is very likely to do this at some point in next number of years.

In reply to: Ed-meister (surprised doesn't automatically put that bit in as I clicked a specific reply link! )

...and? What exactly does that prove?

They say they won't do it, therefore they won't ha ha ha. That does not prove a thing. Hitler said he wouldn't invade Poland, Clinton said he never had sexual relations blah blah My govt. says it cares about problems effecting anybody in the country, even if they don't own a bank! You really think that people saying they'll do something relates to what they actually do. You are from Earth aren't you...?

Mozilla WILL by accident or design pass private information to people who have no legal right to have it. You can argue all you like, but it WILL still happen!

When all's said and done, there's a lot more said than done!

Same question for Google mate! What people say and believe bears very little relation to what actually happens. I WILL be proven right, so be prepared to admit you are wrong at some point in the future.

ps. I have been writing code and working in the computer industry 4 times longer than the Mozilla organisation has. This doesn't make me right (even though I am), but it gives me a large base of experience from which I draw my conclusions.

I would love to allow myself to believe that Mozilla will never do that, but I'd be wrong and I don't go in much for self-deceiving.

And if you really think Mozilla are such a caring organisation, then may I ask where's the un-subscribe, un-register button for this forum's sign up? There ain't one and that['s because now Mozilla has my data they don't want to let it go. One would wonder why?

Sill want to un-subscribe from this forum and FF support in general, does anybody know how? Or am I really gonna have to get somebody to hack the Mozilla DBs to remove my data? And for those that say this is difficult...you are wrong...Mozilla's DBs are about as secure as Greece's economy!

...and one more point... the System information on my profile page (the one I don't want AND DIDN'T ASK FOR!)... says I am running Windows 7 - correct and that I am currently using Firefox 5.0 - WRONG! I am viewing the page using Google Chrome 12 and I have FF 3.6 installed on my system, not 5.0 ummmm....yeah think it may be time to dump FF entirely. Brave venture an' all, but with that much browser choice available now, I might as well use one that works properly and is backed by paid coders who at least spot most of the simple mistakes. Good luck those who like pushing boulders up hills :-) Unfortunately I will now not be recommending FF to my client-base. Goodbye FF, hello Chrome.

LMAO

Now it lists my system details as:

System Details Mac OS X 10.6 Firefox 4.0

That really is the nail in the coffin. As another poster on a forum said, "I might as well move to Chrome. The FF developers have."

To all else, nobody has yet shown how to remove myself from the Mozilla Help Database, this means its looking like I will have to make arrangements for it to happen by other methods. Mozilla you brought it upon yourself!

Hey just noticed the comment about using Google to find answers to this query in future. This is THE MOZILLA HELP FORUM. So take your patronising answer ....

Yes, yes, I know I'm a patronising bastard...but I don't try to assume or pretend any other form!

Sorry you don't like my suggestion to search vendor forums using Google (using the site and inurl parameters as needed). But if you don't want to register for a site and deal with the baggage that comes with registration, I think it is your best option.
