The top, bottom, and sides of the FireFox window (and all other windows in Win 7) are translucent. This makes all the text difficult to read. How do I do away with the translucent feature and restore it to opaque ?

Sounds like the Windows Aero feature. To turn off transparency -
Right click on Desktop>Personalize>Window Color(at the bottom)>uncheck Enable transparency.

- Yes, that works.
Actually I went to 'control panel' and in search typed "transparency". That brought me to the screen that you suggested.
Again the computer geniuses have redefined another word in the English language. In their infinite wisdom they have changed 'border' to 'glass'. I think that the language is OK without their butting in with rubbish. -
I already turned off transparency for windows, but firefox still displays poorly.
Anything else I can do to make the menu more legible, and make the icons easier to see as well? They're so small now, as well as in b+w. My poor ol' eyes struggle, and I often wind up with a migraine from the strain.
It used to be so much easier to see everything in earlier versions of firefox. Same thing happened with thunderbird, unfortunately. This is improvement?
Nancy9 I am sorry I can't help you; you have a different problem.
You should start a completely new thread with your question. In a "Solved" thread it is likely that no one else will see you although this response will take you back to Page1 and you might get lucky.
