I accessed a site that has a scroll area in the middle of the screen and FF6 and FF7B have compressed it so that it is about 8 lines large instead of going to the bottom of the screen. I believe there should be some site compatibility "switches" or configuration that I could use to correct this.

I have added a screen shot of the problem.

No problems here.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Edit > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I have tried your suggestions with out any improvement. I have to add that when I was talking with the site webmaster, he said that I was not the only one with the problem, that FF6 users all had this problem.

I still cannot get the input scroll area to enlarge to the bottom of the graphic box it is in.

You can try to reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

I'm not seeing your problem with Firefox 6 and the Firefox 7 beta version on Linux.
I'm also not seeing scroll bars for that page area, I see all the text in one large container.
