I also cannot get my toolbar or bookmarks. I feel if mozilla is going to do an update it should transfer the information. I lost a lot of sites that are hard to get to. After giving my feedback I will be deleting there app and use explorer. It maybe slower but at least they take the time to develop an app that is user friendly.

The instructions for Restoring Bookmark Backups, [Bookmarks], works to restore the toolbar and menu bookmarks, however the next day they disappear again! Is there a way to make them stay permanently?!

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
