The majority of images loaded in firefox have a section that is a copy of the above section. I have a screen shot to better explain this but I'm not seeing any attachment options. But [[here|http://i.imgur.com/ETn99.png]] is a link to an example. This happens often. I run Ubuntu

Hey, have you done anything already to troubleshoot this? I couldn't find reference of anyone else having the same problem, so we should make sure it's not some add-on or setting causing the problem.

If you already know how to create a new Firefox profile, go ahead and try that. Otherwise try Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to start as it's simpler. If you've already done those things, please report back and we'll think of something else.

You can also try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Edit > Preferences > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Which version of Ubuntu are you running?

Are all libraries up to date?

You can also try to disable HTTP pipelining if that is currently enabled and rest other network.http prefs as well if any show as bold (user set) on the about:config page.
