I do not like nor want to use the New-Tab Window feature.

How can I *permanently* disable this feature?

A 'config' page change maybe?

If you don't want to see top sites when you make a new tab you can turn this feature off.

Go to about:config and change,,,

browser.newtab.url to browser.newtab.about:blank

Firefox 13+ versions have an about:newtab page that shows the thumbnails of recent visited websites.
