IP proxies don't work
When I go to whatismyipaddress.com It shows my ISP electronic box IP 74.116.189.180. when I enter any IP proxy in Firefox 13.01 on my Mac OS snow leopard, by going to Firefox/preferences/network setting and entering the IP address and port of any IP proxy I still get my ISP Electronic box IP address 74.116.189.180. this should not occur and I am suspecting my ISP. Any suggestions?

Only an anonymous proxy will hide the IP because it builds a new connection to the website. A normal proxy doesn't do that as it only passes the traffic.
Sorry. That is what I am using is anonymous proxies from sites like hide my ass & others. Even though the anonymous proxy is entered as stated it is not being displayed under websites like whatsmyipaddress.
Enclosed is an exaple. My firefox is configured as shown by file Firefox socks proxy. Whatsismyaddress.com reports "comcast" which does not match the socks proxy and my ISP is electronic box originated IP address.
