Several weeks ago Firefox crashed. A Mozilla Crash Report window popped up. I hit the restart button at the bottom of the report window and sent the information off. Since then, every time I close out the browser the same window pops up. FIREFOX IS NOT CRASHING. HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS BEYOND ANNOYING WINDOW? There is no crash ID number that I can find. There is a Report Contents which includes tons of numbers. You cannot cut and paste from the Crash Report, but if someone could tell me what to look for I will be happy to send, if needed.

Are you really running Firefox 3.6.20? That version is quite out of date and insecure, so you should consider upgrading.

Does Firefox "crash" even if you just open it to your home page and then close it or does it depend on what you did during your session?

In recent versions of Firefox, you can enter about:crashes into the address bar to access crash details and research solutions. I don't know whether that was available in Firefox 3.6.

This article describes some troubleshooting steps for tracking down the cause of this behavior: Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly).

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
