I deleted my Firefox Sync Account. How can I set up a new account on the same device?

Now, when I open Firefox, and go to Tools, there is only the option to "Sync Now," rather than the option to "Set Up Sync." My account is definitely deleted, b/c Sync replies "Unable to locate your account" if I try to sync. How do I set up a new Sync Account on this same device? Thanks.

hello cloudinoakland, go to preferences > tools > sync and unlink your device. you should then get the option to set up sync and create a new account again.

I saw your solution to go to Preferences>Tools>Sync and unlink your device, but I don't see that option on either my main computer or the phone which was previously added. The Firefox button gives me the Sync now option and I have nothing that says Preferences>Tools. Can you help?

Hi karenbee, I can understand your confusion; the solution I chose from phillip wasn't exactly accurate, but I was able to figure it out because I'd been clicking through various menus before I posted my question. I can only reply regarding the Macintosh platform. In that case, when you are in Firefox on your computer, the menu items across the top, above the application window will show "Firefox" as the first application menu item. Click on Firefox, then Preferences from the menu, then click on Sync in the Preferences window. Click the "Unlink This Device" link at the bottom of the window.

karenbee, Here's the solution for PCs: Tools>Options, then click Sync in the Options window. Good luck.
