FF 26.0: I can not pause downloads anymore
Much to my horror, Firefox 26.0 does not support the old style download manager anymore :( Really can not believe that they stick to this new, totally not clear download thing :( Anyway, I used the browser.download.useToolkitUI in about:config and that worked great. This is no longer working so I did set it to False. But with using that new download "manager" I only have a "Stop download" button and then a "Restart download". There is no "Resume download" anymore. Did start FF in Safe Mode but it is the same then: no more "Resume download". Either I did mess up something or Firefox developers did screw up the FF Download "manager" even more? For now I assume I did mess up something ....

Thanx for the heads up! Although you made a typo: you spelled Mozilla with 3 l's and then you go to a Googlesyndication page ;) Correct URL is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/downloads-window/ Indeed no normal, good visible Pause/Resume option but at least it's a normal, clear download windows where you can see easily w all the progress :)

Ahh, there is the Pause option!! Thanx for the answer! And my send guess was right: they managed to screw up the download manager even more with this :( This new download manger and stuff is totally counter intuitive :(
I also had the problem of not being able to pause downloads
even after installing your suggested add on the pause option seems inactive or missing
@ orrazib The Pause option turns out to be there. In their "wisdom" FF developers did hide it: you have to right-click on a download and then there is the Pause option.
@meegja, Upon right clicking the pause option seems to be greyed out and is unusable whatsover
i have noticed this on 2 separate devices with the latest version of Firefox
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
i think i got the pause feature working in downloads.
I completely removed the other themes that were installed even though they were disabled, upon starting the browser in safe mode i am able to use pause now
Have to check if the themes were causing the problem
