why does the dmg icon have to remain on my desk top

I just downloaded and installed ff 29.0. the dmg icon remains on my desk top. If I eject it, everytime I start ff the "move to app" box appears, then ff starts. Do I have to keep the dmg icon on my desk top ?

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.

Open the Firefox disk image file and drag the Firefox program into the Applications folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but instead drag it out of the DMG folder.
