can't send. please help!
new build. windows 7. sent an email. minutes later send not working. "sending of message failed" settings not changed, and are the same as the laptop which works ok. receive OK. at my wits end!

Try rebooting in safe mode
- Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
- If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
well thanks for the effort. problem arose out of nowhere (that I am aware of) shut it down for an hour or two, came back, T-bird asked me for a password when I hit the send button, and has been working OK since. these computers get to be a major pain when they are not doing what they are supposed to. H
problem is back. I changed nothing. very frustrating. safe mode does not help. any further suggestion?
this time I installed a new version (16) of Norton Utilities. it found 555 registry errors. after rebooting, T-bird is working again. maybe now issue is resolved. H thanks
