Why do I have to restart my computer with every Firefox upgrade?

For that past several upgrades, I have to restart my computer to complete the installation. If I don't restart my PC, firefox will not open. I use firefox on other computers and have never had to restart any of them after an upgrade. The computer that has to be restarted is a Win7 Home Premium 32-bit system.

What do I need to do to stop the restarts after FF upgrades?

Strange. I've never had to restart my computer for Firefox upgrading. Does Firefox restart when you do an addon upgrading, that asks for Firefox to restart ?

Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).

Sorry to reply so late, but in answer to your question, no, when I install Addons, I don't have to restart my PC.

Run this once and see what happens when the next update occurs? What's strange is that I don't know there was an update until I try to open FF. Then it tells me that I must restart my PC for the upgrade to complete. If I don't, I can't get into FF.
