I can see that it is possible to import e-mails and address books from one Thunderbird to another, but what about from Claws to Thunderbird, or from Eudora which is on another drive, to Thunderbird?

as long as Eudora is installed it will import as the location is in the registry. Tools mneu (alt+T) > import.

As for claws. I have no idea. Their web site talks of LDIF formatted files for import. Thunderbird can import those as well. So perhaps Claws can export them. The site also suggest the ability to import and export mbox formatted mail files. Thunderbird's native file format is mbox. This add-on does make working with MBOX files easier. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/
