constant crashes, just started recently. I have up to date virus and malware protection. My display driver crashes then recovers and the Firefox crashes. no others crash. IE and Chrome never have an issue. I have been sending crash reports for the last couple of days. Firefox is my default browser and I like it that way. I have lots of active windows I don;t want to lose is separate browsing sessions I use daily.

Try to get a Crash report and Crash ID from nightly.

Maybe this will occur if you try to use the menu item to quit Firefox.IIRC Firefox should try to generate a Crash Report if it tries to shutdown and does not complete the process within about 10 minutes, so that may involve a bit of waiting around without powering off the computer or shutting down the Windows OS.

I will leave this to Tyler and cor-el, as they will understand the cause of this type of Crash better than I do.

the about :crashes.....tried to resend a list of crashes and "google 400 error appears". ??? any ideas.

Hi richwalters,

You should start your own question using /questions/new. If you post back in this thread to confirm you have done so we will be able to find your question. Hopefully your Crash will be a different issue and easier to solve.

Note there is no space in about<space>:crashes it is all continuous about:crashes The text above in italic should work if pasted into the location bar.

We know about your Fx38 crashes. What about the Nightly Crashes ? Those are the ones Tyler will be interested in.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
