In Safe Mode the deletion of emails does not crash TB. However, the minimize, restore and close buttons are missing in each theme I tried.

Could you check please for crash IDs at Help | Troubleshooting. And copy/paste a few here.

@Wayne Mery "Could you check please for crash IDs at Help | Troubleshooting. And copy/paste a few here."

Sorry, I checked for reports but there are none listed for the time frame of this problem.

Is your meaning of crash that thunderbird stopped responding when you click delete?

Does it also fail if you update to version 38.2.0?

I am using 38.2 currently and, at times, when I click delete TB will freeze up, the screen will fade and nothing responds to my mouse clicks. In the menu bar (File, Edit, etc.) Not Responding will show up as it does in Task Manager (Win 10). Eventually the ...has stopped responding window will show up and I will choose to Close Program.

addition: In 38.2 the Minimize Close button is back in default theme.

You wrote previously that the problem is not seen when started in Thunderbird safe mode.

Please check Help | Troubleshooting to see which addons are installed and determine which one is causing the problem.

Have done that and the best I can determine is that it MAY be Add Block Plus Extensions but it didn't start until the Win 10 update.

I really can't say my attempts to correct the problem at my end adds up to a lot of empirical evidence though. I am just working around the problem by re-starting TB when the happens.

All manner of weird things are being reported by Win 10 users. So nothing can be discounted.

Please run with Adblock Plus disabled for a bit and report what happens. If the problem goes way, I recommend disabling all other addons and reenable Adblock Plus, so we can rule out interraction between Adblock Plus and other addons.

Will do. Thanks.
