How can I use my thunderbird emailprogram on diff desktops/laptops

more options

I work on a desktop with different emails on my thunderbird emailprogram. Now I have to go abroad and will take my laptop. I have all my normal files (so everything but email) on external hard disks.

If I download thunderbird emailprogram on my laptop, how can I get my files / emails etc also on the laptop.

So I want the same files and emails (incl history) on both my desktop as well on my laptop.

With Outlook I can archive everything f.i. on a external harddisk location so I would only have to connect the hard disk to my laptop and I can work however I do not work with Outlook haha anymore. SO is this also possible with Thunderbird?

I hope I have explained a bit the problem. THanks for your help. Betty

Copy the profile from the desktop computer to the laptop.

If you're expecting to continue using both computers, you should consider IMAP, so they will both look at the same set of folders, stored on the Mail server.

So where do I find my profile then? And what is IMAP? THanks
