yahoo search results do not render safe site annotations
Hello I've notice default search engine Yahoo will not show safe annotations by WOT or SafeWeb or BrightCloud. Whereas Google search results render safe annotations.
What happened and is there a work around to run default Yahoo search engine and render safe annotations.
Thanks

Um, is my question unclear. Do you require additional explanation
Please make sure that you have this patch to you Norton Toolbar:
Modified
Yep, Norton is patched and Norton Toolbar is disabled.

Please contact Norton and let them know it is happening in Yahoo as well.
This issue is not related to Norton. This issue surfaced when Firefox switched to Yahoo search as default. Annotations appear in Google search results. I first noticed WOT stopped appearing in Yahoo search results. I've confirmed with friends that do not run Norton. This is believe it or not a Firefox issues started when FF switched to Yahoo.

Then I guess I'll have to contact WOT as WOT does not show in Yahoo. I'll have to contact Webroot as BrightCloud annotations do not show in Yahoo. From Firefox one click search bar I can switch between Yahoo and Google and Bing. Since, Yahoo became default. Yahoo does not show search result site rating annotations. Google and Bing show Webroot search result safe annotations.
Modified
Firefox wants me to run yahoo search engine. Well, Firefox will have to get yahoo to display safety annotations. As long as google and bing display safety rating okay. I'll expect Firefox aka yahoo to fix. Regards
Hi bjm_, around the time that Yahoo and Mozilla entered into the agreement that made Yahoo the new default search provider for North American Firefox users, Yahoo developed a new site layout. It's possible that the security add-ons only work with the old Yahoo site layout. But this is not something that is under Mozilla's control, as Mozilla neither controls the layout of Yahoo pages nor the behavior of third party add-ons.
If these ratings are important to you, then you will need to use a different search site or change how you access Yahoo search. For example, when I install the WOT extension, I get different results with these very different links:
- Searching from Yahoo home page, ratings visible: https://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=Ar94RY_giuFAB.VcRq7l7PSbvZx4?p=%22google+hit+hider%22&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-901&fp=1
- Searching from Firefox search bar, rating not visible: https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?p=%22google+hit+hider%22&ei=UTF-8&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-001
When I look at the HTML code around the first result on the two pages, it doesn't seem fundamentally different, but there are lots of small differences.

So, why would security have to bend to FF/Yahoo. Yahoo wants the traffic. Yahoo is losing my traffic. Does Firefox benefit from Yahoo traffic. Just putting it out there. If FF/Yahoo traffic is down. Now, you know why. BTW ~ Chrome/Yahoo renders safety ratings. BTW ~ IE/Yahoo renders safety ratings. Since, Firefox is setting the stage to redo add-ons and redo FF over the next months. Hi bjm_, those bigger questions are beyond the scope of support. I'm not sure whose job it is to care about what search sites users use!
Apparently Firefox cares. They switched to Yahoo presumably to benefit Firefox users. If my Topic is beyond the scope of Support. Maybe Support will forward to higher ups. Point being Firefox wants me to use Yahoo and I'm using Google. Regards

As I mentioned before, this is a problem with add-ons and websites Mozilla does not control. My plate overfloweth already, so I can't take on chasing those other people as well.
how is this a problem with add-ons Firefox controls default search engine....

Well, I've tried BitDefender TrafficLight with no joy. Search annotations do not show with Yahoo search results. Lost revenue for Mozilla....as I continue to use Google.
