I have created filters and folders in Gmail for multiple email addresses and it is a mess when imported into T'bird

For several years I had no access to my computer and used Gmail. Now I want to use Thunderbird but importing from Gmail divides the mail for each email address and creates several inboxes and sent folders. Do I need to clear the filters and folders from Gmail and recreate them in T'bird to get T'bird to combine everything?

Thunderbird will faithfully mirror the folder structure you have on Gmail if you use IMAP. My guess ifs you are adding POP accounts for a number of gmail accounts instead of an IMAP account for whatever account it is they all end up inn after your server side shenanigans.
