Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
It sounds like the files were corrupted. I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
If you're having problems with Firefox, refreshing it can help. The refresh feature fixes many issues by restoring Firefox to its default state while saving your essential information like bookmarks, passwords, and open tabs.
This will place your old profile in a folder on your desktop. Wait for others for help on recovering these files.

Note there is only one this year, I suspect that's it
As for Garmin, I only show 4.1.0.1 in the add-ons manager
I'm going hold off on the 2nd suggestion for now. I can access the bookmarks as an HTML file, so I can reach things if I have too
Thanks for the help

For some time now, a lot of Mac’s with Microsoft programs have been crashing. Check with Microsoft / Mac support sites.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
As for getting back up an running in the meantime, keep that copy of the HTML bookmarks and keep this for creating a new profile: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
I used the Refresh Firefox, actually twice
The first time in hung on a pop-up window that read something about "we will be done shortly". Ten minutes later I checked and Finder reported that Firefox had hung up
The second time went fine, history is back and the books marks appear to all be there (this set dates back to when I was first using Netscape.....)
SO it appears all is better
If it happens again then try to rename or delete all places files like places.sqlite, places.sqlite-shm and places.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder.

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backups of files that you choose.
