I have added 'MoreFunctionsForAddressBook' to the Address Book tools as I want to use 'Actions for contacts' but this is one of 3 menu items greyed out. Why?

I want to import Contacts from Windows Mail on Windows Vista to Thunderbird on a new PC with Windows 10, so have downloaded the add-on 'MoreFunctionsForAddressBook' but of the five items on its sub-menu the following three are not accessible:- Actions for contacts, Actions for lists, Actions for address books. How can they be activated as I need to use Actions for contacts?

Chosen solution

When you open Address Book, the default selection in the (left) Directory Pane is All Address Books, a kind of 'meta address book', so the Actions menus are not available. Select Personal Address Book or another address book to access Actions. However, if you are importing contacts from Windows Mail in a csv file, you really don't need MFFAB (although you can use Tools/MFFAB/Actions for addressbooks/Import addressbook from CSV file). The important step is to edit the csv before importing to make the operation work.

Thanks sfhowes, selecting Personal Address Book worked a treat, contacts were in a vCard file so all ok.
