When firefox downloads a link, if that link has a video file that is to automatically open, firefox crashes.
I go to the webpage, it automatically starts the video and within seconds the following Firefox error pops up (see below) then when I then chose the option to close the program, I get an error that says Gah! Your tab just crashed. When I chose "Restore this tab". It crashes again. Email me for 2 screen shots. They would not attach. The following is the report:

Hello? I'm still crashing in Firefox
Just went to About:crashes but nothing is there
Ok this time, with the new install of Firefox, please start the program with the Profile Manager.
I am suspicious of your Norton Antivirus Toolbar and any addons in the current profile that might not be compatible with the new version. Since Firefox 45 there have been many compatibility and security updates.
Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles - but in this case, start the program with the Profile Manager, and select to create a new profile.
If it does not crash after creating a new profile, it has to do with the profile. Run a few different malware scanners https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-m...
It looks like your Firefox profile needed a big tune up, thanks for bearing with us as we take you through all the steps to get it going again. What happens after you created the new profile and rand the malware scan?
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Options/Preferences -> General: Performance
remove checkmark: [ ] "Use recommended performance settings"
"Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
OK not so happy here I have been working on this for the past 2 1/2 hours Still NOT working
I did every step that was asked I uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled it, refershed it Disabled Hardware Accelerations no hardware issues Updated all graphics (none to update) Set up new profile Did all the sage mode steps Checked for malware updated malware cleared cookies, cache Created new profiles everything in the steps you sent me But still crashes. Looks like I need to go back to IE unless you could remedy this asap. And that will really be aggravating, since I have been using firefox for a few years I have everything set up in my book marks here... VERY frustrating
I could share the the following 2 errors through about:crash appeared today after I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.

Let’s do a full clean re-install;
Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux
If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Do Not remove the profiles folder.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

ok I'll be able to start this in about 15 minutes thanks
So I went through all the steps of the clean reinstall and still had the issues. As I had mentioned earlier, I work with 3 monitors and have for some time, so I tried with all 3 monitors, then 2 and then just the monitor attached to my laptop and the issue still happens
I did try it in safe mode, but could only test the 1 monitor attached to the laptop and it did not crash.
There are no new errors in the about:crashes report file
The websites I went to were; I searched irma path, then clicked on the see video of one of the videos and it came up immediately. Another website which crashed had not visible videos, but crashed within seconds was: How to Temporarily Disable Malwarebytes | It Still Works | Giving Old ... itstillworks.com › Software Here's that link https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=14&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj_5NfDh5bWAhUK_IMKHdEOCzUQFghtMA0&url=http%3A%2F%2Fitstillworks.com%2Ftemporarily-disable-malwarebytes-12264794.html&usg=AFQjCNHTn3CGKrbKqU_Mqi7aiEg7ruNJww
as an FYI:I have a meeting at 1pm CT at a client site, so I will not be able to test anything else until tonight or tomorrow -Mark

Sorry to bother, there were some recent grumblings of crashes caused by antiviruses from the conversion of 32bit to 64bit versions of Firefox, can you confirm your current versions. Do you still have the Norton Toolbar enabled?
Notes: ? Bug 1268470 - crash in klsihk64.dll (Kaspersky security DLL) Windows 8 only, ? Bug 1347867 - crash in CrashReporter::OOPInit (Quick Heal antivirus DLL)

Guigs: I'm going to try what FredMcd posted on 9.8 @ 12:03
To answer your questions Firefox Version 55.0.3 (64bit) Norton Version 22.10.1.10 I do not use Norton Toolbar is NOT enable, never has been
If this does not work, I'm going to Google Chrome and no more Firefox nor recommendations, this has been lasting way too long and taking up way too much of my time. I'm a recruiter, when I am not up and running or on the phone, I am not making money. All this back and forth is costing me money.
None of what I was recommend to do works Created new profile, deleted old file Opened new profile without moving old folders into it, tested viewing a video and it crashed again
How disappointing.
