The screens in my attachments have started to appear randomly when i open Firefox 62. I have contacted Microsoft and the technician put my computer on remote. The technician spent over an hour searching for problems, scanned for corruption but found nothing. Microsoft Edge was disabled but i have never installed it and have been with Firefox for a long time. So, finally the technician went to an escalation technician and it was suggested that it could be something in Firefox and to uninstall it and reinstall it. This i am reluctant to do as things may be lost or changed. Could you give me advice please?

You are seeing that because you are using Edge as your browser. You can make sure that Firefox is your default by going to Make Firefox your default browser

You are wrong, I AM NO USING EDGE AS MY BROWSER because if you read what i said "i have never installed it and have been with Firefox for a long time." you might get it. My Firefox browser has been set as default for many many years. Actually, attempted answer was too quick, you didn`t read what i said.

Would someone else please look at my details properly?

Edge is installed on every Windows 10 computer by default. You can't remove it, you always have it. The screenshots you posted are of Edge, not Firefox.

This is not the first time you mention seeing these screens :

i don`t believe what your`e saying, yes, those photos are there because of them appearing when i open Firefox 62. My default is Firefox.

Please drop out of this and let someone else look into it.

I'm not going to drop out because you don't believe me. These are photos of edge. Now, what were you doing when they opened? Did you search for something in the start menu?

I do believe that you are not reading my post. WHEN I OPEN FIREFOX THOSE SCREENS RANDOMLY APPEAR. I have checked with Microsoft and other people and they have not seen this. Cancel the post now. BYE

There is something that's causing those screens to appear, and I doubt it has something to do with Firefox. I see there's a search for getting help with windows 10, did you type that?

Firefox should show your homepage at startup - how do you open
Firefox  ?

If you have posted this question on the Microsoft support forum, could you give us a link to that thread please  ?

Please read my post carefully taking note of Microsoft technician putting my computer on remote no forum. The screens in my attachments have started to appear randomly when i open Firefox 62. Microsoft said it has nothing to do with updates and they have never seen it before, that`s why they suggested to uninstall and reinstall Firefox 62. I open Firefox browser the normal way and have been for years. On the internet i see that other peop[le have experienced this. All notifications are all turned off on my computer. Don`t worry i search further.

Sir, I have read everything you posted ..... (more than once).

I was hoping that maybe you would have posted your question on the official Microsoft support forum, as suggested in your previous thread about this issue.

You keep saying that you never installed Edge - maybe you missed the part in Tyler Downer's post, where he says :

"Edge is installed on every Windows 10 computer by default. You can't remove it, you always have it."

Also : as you say that this happens 'randomly' (I assume that means that on other occasions Firefox opens your homepage) - have you tried what Scribe suggested in your previous thread  ?

Just curious : did those Microsoft technicians charge you anything  ?

I tried Microsoft forum some time ago, they are hopeless. Yes, i know about Edge on Windows Microsoft, remote technician disabled it but. You all seem to be saying i installed Edge but i didn`t purposely. What did Scribe say?

leave this alone please, it really is a strange thing, also i have seen on the internet that other people have had this. Turning of notifications doesn`t solve it. It is definitely not something i have done. Technicians charging? what has that got to do with this problem.

Please don't take things personally. You posted here asking for help, we are trying to understand the problem. You keep getting offending when told something you don't agree with, rather than giving more details.

At this point, this doesn't look like an issue with Firefox at all, but for some reason Edge is popping up. I'm not sure what Microsoft technicians you talked to, which is why McCoy was asking for more information about them.

Neither Tyler Downer nor I are saying that, Sir .....

Please read Tyler Downer's post again.

See your previous thread about this subject, please.

You say that you tried Microsoft support forum some time ago - did you post a question there about this particular issue  ?

If not : would you consider posting it and add the screenshots that you provided here  ?

It's worth a try .....

No offence taken here. Firstly you said i had installed Edge, how could you know that? i didn`t. On the internet others are having the same problem. Highly qualified technicians have tried to solve this but no go, so they suggested to uninstall Firefox and reinstall it. i`ll try that. Thank Bye Bye

I'm not sure why you don't want to believe me, you clearly have Edge installed because it's in those screenshots, and you said yourself it keeps opening.

Reinstalling Firefox isn't going to change anything.

Did you type out "how to get help in Windows 10" somewhere in your computer?

My post in Microsoft forum is the same as i said here. They kept saying "does it happen when you open Edge" they were not seeing the problem. I did not install Edge i hate it and love Firefox. the screen shots are the same as i posted here. These are not downloads or installs they are randomly appearing when they shouldn`t.

Now, just cease saying that i installed Edge, i know it comes with Windows. No No No i didn`t type anything. This thing shouldn`t open at all unless i want it to. See in my attachment it is not the browser but Edge TIPS

This is the website you're seeing: https://microsoftedgetips.microsoft.com/en-us/

I agree it shouldn't be opening if you don't want it to. It isn't opening in Firefox, it's opening in edge.

Have you followed the steps at: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/turn-off-windows-10s-pushy-edge-notifications/
