Mac OS 10.13.6 After starting Thunderbird, I have no problems sending messages, but after a while, it stops sending messages. It does not crash, I still can read messages. I have to close Thunderbird and restart it. Then, I can send messages - for a while until it stops again.

I would assume you get an error message. What it it?

No error message. The little window stays open and the blue bar is pulsing forever.

I have this Problem too, except I am on Windows and I get no "blue bar". I hit the send button (or use ctrl+enter) and nothing happens. I restart and it works. This occurs from time to time and is not dependent on the account used.

The fact that others observe similar problem has not helped to solve the problem. I'm now up to v.68.4.2and none of the updates have solved the problem - if anything it happens more often. The message is actually sent but Thunderbird becomes unresponsive. I have to use opt+cmd+escape to close it by force.

The first thing to try when TB hangs or is unresponsive is to run the OS in safe mode. OS X, Windows. If the issue persists in OS safe mode, test with TB in safe mode (Help/Restart with add-ons disabled).
