Dear all,

we have a problem with all Thunderbird versions released after 60.7.2. We are storing our mail profiles on a network drive, which never was a problem before. After upgrading our clients to 60.8.0, the profile wasn´t loaded anymore. It was like using Thunderbird for the first time.

After downgrading to 60.7.2 everything was fine again. So I tried in the last months Thunderbird 60.8.0, 68.0, 68.1.2 and 68.2.0, but all had the same problem.

What´s the issue here? Honestly I don´t want to stuck on Thunderbird 60.7.2...

Regards Mathis

I am aware of only two reported issues

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1512940 - Thunderbird hangs, if the last attachment comes from network share, and the network is broken

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1512812 - Handling of mapped network drives in Windows changed in TB 60: Drive letter now resolved to UNC path for account directory prefs affecting profile

Exactly what device, and what protocol are you using?

Wayne,

thanks for you reply. The client PC´s are all Windows 10 x64 Education, 1809 resp. 1903. The network drive is a simple SMB share hosted on a Windows Server 2019.
