Thunderbird is not your email provider, it is an email client program running on your computer. Your email provider is the company providing internet access and/or whomever is providing the email address.
Thunderbird is a free product offering a free Help forum where other Thunderbird users from all around the world offer their free time in a voluntary capacity to help other users with issues. There are no offices manning telephones.
You are welcome to ask for help in this forum and volunteers will try to assist or pay for help from your local IT person who understands the workings of Thunderbird.
No idea why you think help sucks as you have not used it yet.
Unfortunately you have not provided much information regarding your actual problem so could you eleborate.
What Operating system are you using? eg: Windows10 or MAC or Linux ? What version of Thunderbird are you using? eg: windows32 bit 68.5.0
You mention code 1002. This sounds like you got an error message, but it could be an error message from your computer or an error message from a server. There is usually much more to an error message, so it would be helpful if you could post an image of the full error message.
When do you see this error? Is it when you try to 'Get Messages' or when trying to send a message? What server are you using? eg: gmail, BT, yahoo, comcast etc
Does it occur when you start computer or when you start Thunderbird ?
Note: Bitdefender can also produce an error code 1002.
