Today while using Thunderbird, I noticed that a bunch of emails that should be being placed into folders, were coming into the inbox instead. I expanded the inbox to look at the folders and all but a handful of them were gone. I checked on the server and the folders are still there, so I right-clicked clicked on the email account and selected "subscribe". All of my missing folders are there, but un-checked. When I try to check them, the checkmark won't "stick".

I uninstalled Thunderbird and manually removed all of its directories form my PC, then removed all references to Thunderbird from the registry, restarted the machine and reinstalled Thunderbird. When I re-added the email account, the same thing happened. I cannot subscribe to most of my folders.

What gives?

Still looking for a fix. I have switched back to Outlook for now and, though it has much improved in the years since I last used it, I miss my thunderbird.
